Trading Paints is the free tool that puts custom liveries on iRacing cars. With the Downloader running, you see your own paint and every other driver's paint on the grid. Here is how to set it up.
Step by step: get a livery in iRacing
- Create an account on tradingpaints.com and link it to your iRacing account.
- Install the Trading Paints Downloader on the PC you race on and sign in. It runs in the background.
- Find a livery. Browse the showroom, search by car, or open a team or driver profile.
- Race it. Click "Race this paint" (or upload your own design under My Paints) and pick the car number if asked.
- Start iRacing with the Downloader open. It downloads your paint and those of other drivers in the session. Liveries appear in-sim once the files are in.
Liveries not showing?
- Check that the Downloader is running and signed in before you join the session.
- Paints download per session. In a busy race it can take a minute before every car is updated.
- Make sure the livery is set for the exact car model you are driving.
Free or Pro?
The free version is enough to race a livery and see other drivers' paints. Trading Paints Pro is an optional paid upgrade with extra features.
