Triple tips

  • In iRacing set the calculated horizontal FOV and enable triple screens in graphics options.
  • Measure the bezel with a ruler: black border of screen A + gap + black border of screen B.
  • Measure the angle between centre and side screen (not relative to the wall).
  • Sit closer or further? Recalculate — FOV depends heavily on viewing distance.

How does the calculation work?

We use the real physical width of your screen (from diagonal + aspect ratio) and your viewing distance. Horizontal FOV is:

FOV = 2 × arctan((width / 2) / distance) for a single screen.

For triples we model the side monitors with bezel and fold angle. FOV runs to the outer edge of the outer screens — so the horizon and perspective in the sim match what you see in real life.

The horizontal FOV from this tool. Enable triples in graphics options and enter the calculated value in degrees.

And in Assetto Corsa Competizione?

ACC uses vertical FOV — take that result from the calculator.

How do I measure the bezel?

With a ruler: black border of screen A + gap + black border of screen B, per join. Typically 10–20 mm depending on your monitors.

What angle is good for triples?

Often 45–60°. Measure the angle between centre and side screen. Slightly more open is usually safer if you do not have a fixed cockpit yet.
