iRacing Endurance Stint Planner

Plan stints, fuel, pit stops and driver rotation for iRacing endurance races, from a short team race to 24+ hours. Live timeline, team overview and Excel export — for Goodfellas teams who want clean pit strategy without the fuss.

Race settings

Optional — shown in timeline, Excel and Discord export
1 = swap every pit · 2 = double stint · 3 = triple, etc.
Example: 1:52.300 or 112.5
Average consumption per lap in the race
Don't run dry — default 1 lap reserve
Often 70–80 min for focus / regulations

Pit stops

1 = always tires · 2 = every other · 3 = every 3rd stop

Drivers

Enter names yourself. Order = start order; ↑↓ to rotate. The timeline appears only after all names are filled in.

Your stint plan

First enter all driver names on the left. Then the stint plan, timeline, summary and exports appear here.

Tip: pick the number of drivers, type the names, then tweak race settings as needed.

How to use the stint planner

  1. Set the race length, the number of drivers and how many stints a driver stays in the car.
  2. Enter your average race lap time, tank capacity, fuel use and reserve.
  3. Fill in the pit stop times: fuel only, fuel plus tyres and the extra time for a driver swap.
  4. Type all driver names. The plan, timeline, driver cards and exports appear straight away.

How stint length is calculated

A stint is as long as the smallest of two limits: your maximum stint length and the number of laps the tank minus the reserve allows. The planner works in whole laps, so every stop happens on the start-finish line. In a timed race the final stint runs to the first crossing after the clock hits zero. If only a few laps would be left after the last stop, the planner splits the last two stints evenly, so nobody does a one-lap stint.

Pit stop time

Every stop counts on the race clock: fuel only, or fuel plus tyres (every Nth stop, your choice), plus the extra time for a driver swap. If a driver stays in for a double or triple stint, there is no swap time.

Example: 6-hour race with 3 drivers

With the default settings (lap time 1:52.300, 80 L tank, 2.4 L per lap, 1 lap reserve, max stint 75 minutes, pit stops of 35 and 55 seconds plus 15 seconds per swap, tyres every 2nd stop) the planner gives:

  • a maximum stint of 32 laps (59m 54s), limited by fuel;
  • 6 stints and 5 pit stops, 4m 50s of total pit time;
  • finish at 6:00:27 after 190 laps, with about 456 L of fuel;
  • 64, 64 and 62 laps per driver, well above the fair share minimum of 16 laps.

Export to Excel and Discord

Frequently asked questions

Does it work for 24-hour races?

Yes. You can plan races from 15 minutes up to 48 hours. For a 24-hour race with the default settings the planner creates 24 stints.

Do I need an account?

No. The planner runs in your browser, is free and stores nothing. Only for the Excel export does your browser load the SheetJS library.

Can I enter fuel per hour instead of per lap?

Yes. Switch between L / lap and L / hour above the fuel field. The planner works in litres.

Does the planner check iRacing’s fair share rule?

Yes. Every driver card shows the planned laps and the fair share minimum. The planner calculates it with the rule from the iRacing Official Sporting Code (section 6.2.3, version 9 September 2026): an equal share is the team’s laps divided by the number of declared drivers, rounded up; a fair share is at least 25% of that, rounded up. A driver below it gets a warning.

How does the planner handle the end of a timed race?

In a timed race you take the checkered flag the first time you cross the line after the clock runs out. The planner plans in whole laps and lets the final stint run to that crossing, so the plan ends just after the race time. A pit stop is only planned if the fuel or your maximum stint length requires one.
